10-25-2012 WBC Update brings lots of news

here (if you can’t see it, expand this thread). Among the notables are Vicente Padilla, Erasmo Ramirez, Wilton Lopez and Everth Cabrera. You may also know of the team’s manager: Dennis Martinez.

Johnny Damon, who’s mother is Thai, will play for the Thai team this November.

Andre Rienzo will pitch for Brazil.

An early list for possible players for 2013’s Team Mexico has been released. It’s in Spanish, but you’ll be able to read it fine. Note that it includes some Americans of Mexican descent that probably wouldn’t take part (like Evan Longoria, who I seem to remember saying last time that he’d only play for Team USA).

Other notes from an article at Mister Baseball: Wladimir Balentien (currently in Japan) wants to play for the Dutch team, the Panamanian team won’t be able to use Bruce Chen, Randall Delgado or Luis Durango, Colombia’s preliminary roster includes the Solano Brothers, Edgar Renteria, Julio Teheran, Ernesto Frieri and Jose Quintana.

Shin-Soo Choo would like to play for Korea in 2013 but will need to speak to Terry Francona first.

Remember you may need to expand to see everything.
