1914 and 1915 seasons added

On August 6th,  1914, Rabbit Maranville hit a home run and was part of 3 double plays. So cool.

You can now follow the Miracle Braves season as we have added box scores, splits and gamelogs back to the 1914 season. This includes the entirety of the Federal League's existence.

...and the greatest pennant race EVAR!

Also, he was the Miracle Braves' primary cleanup hitter.

Which means that either we've come a long way toward understanding lineup construction, or we haven't.

He batted 8th for much of the second part of the season, but not sure why he was ever put in the heart of the order, he started the season poorly so it's not like he had a hot streak to make people think he had reached a new level. He did lead his team in rbi's with 78 though..... and was third in homeruns with 4.

The '14 Braves are the subject of the latest SABR team history paperback/eBook (alongside histories of the 1901, '12 and mid-1950s Red Sox and the '84 Tigers). It's typically fascinating.

2/Fred: On a related note - I'd never looked at Babe Ruth's splits, which are now complete on a career basis, and one thing really popped out at me:

GS by spot in the batting order
Batting 1st (0)
Batting 2nd (0)
Batting 3rd (1736)
Batting 4th (536)
Batting 5th (4)
Batting 6th (1)
Batting 7th (1)
Batting 8th (0)
Batting 9th (118)

Yeah, I get that the pitcher bats 9th. But... he's BABE ####### RUTH.
