Maybe he took a drug which allows him to communicate his instructions to the bullpen telepathically.
   15. Lassus Posted: October 27, 2011 at 11:50 PM (#3977322)
That's right, FOX, no baseball fan wants to see Stan Musial in what might be his last live appearance. I'm going to throw a ####### party when you stop showing baseball. I hope baseball loses ratings, so you stop.

Here I am! Thank you rain gods.

Also, what's with people complaining that the game will make them watch other stuff on DVR. Do you not already watch other stuff on DVR? If not, why?
   23. MM1f Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977339)
Andrus+Kinsler combo coming through again.
   24. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977340)
Great work by Kinsler
   25. Gamingboy Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977341)
This is not a good start for the St. Louis Nine (well, 25).
   26. bunyon Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977344)
Sheesh
   27. Gamingboy Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977345)
Hamilton = Awesome (RBIs in the World Series are inherently awesome) [X]
   28. Lassus Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3977346)
Wow, that is a LOT of cheering for Texas in St. Louis.

Tony! Phone ready?

Fast start for Tejas.
   31. Shredder Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:11 AM (#3977349)
Wow, I thought Garcia might at least show up. This one ended early.
   32. salvomania Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3977351)
Cmon Garc, get out of this no worse than being down 3-0...
   33. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3977352)
What a horrible at bat
   34. JJ1986 Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3977353)
Now the good Rangers get to come up, at the bottom of the order.

   38. Srul Itza Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3977357)
Michael Young, take a seat.

One DP away from getting out of the inning.

[ x] Duncan glares in the bullpen.
   40. MM1f Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3977359)
I still remember some moron on minorleagueball.com many years ago saying that it was OBVIOUS Josh Hamilton wasn't a good prospect even before his injury/drug problems because he didn't walk a lot in the minors.
   41. Sunday silence Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3977361)
that should have read Beltre builds case
   42. salvomania Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3977364)
Beltre making Garcia work...
   43. Shredder Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3977365)
Christ, Beltre was ready to appeal again. He really needs to break that habit. If I were the first base ump, I call it a strike just out of spite.
   44. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3977367)
Cripes
   45. Gamingboy Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3977368)
Garcia buckling down.
   46. bunyon Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:17 AM (#3977369)
Pretty nice work to get out of that down 1-0.
   47. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:17 AM (#3977370)
The guilty guy is Young. He's a contact guy and didn't
   48. salvomania Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:18 AM (#3977371)
Nice recovery---that could have been an ugly, demoralizing inning.

I'm hoping if the Birds go 1-2-3 in their half of the 1st that they at least take 15 pitches to do it...
   49. Srul Itza Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:18 AM (#3977372)
After the runs scores, they still had first and third, nobody out -- and didn't get another run.

Not a good sign for Tejas.
   50. Sunday silence Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:19 AM (#3977374)
Buck shows some emotion. You know as an announcer you've really got to pace your self in these.

This Honus Wagner commercial is so lame/cliched.
   51. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3977375)
This punk in the camera commercial needs to be sheared and then beaten senseless

Cederstrom's strike zone is going to be an issue tonight.

I really didn't want that to be an ugly inning, I'm not ready for the season to end.
   54. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3977378)
I want Texas to win the series, but I wouldn't be opposed to a game 7. Either way, I want this game to be good.

Mike

Looks fine to me

This Honus Wagner commercial is so lame/cliched.

It's not a brilliant piece of art by any means, but I'm not going to complain about anything that gets the name Honus Wagner repeated frequently on national TV.
   57. Good cripple hitter Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3977381)
I'd love for Tony/Albert to call for the hit and run here.
   58. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3977382)
If Tony bursts into flame that would make any outcome acceptable
   59. Gamingboy Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3977383)
That isn't a IBB. Or a homer.
   60. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3977384)
Popup!

[ x] Berkman continues to build MVP case
   68. MM1f Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:24 AM (#3977395)
I thought that was a long flyout off the bat. Berkman continues to kill it.

For once a TV graphic doesn't jinx someone.

Man, you gotta be a hitter to take that pitch over the CF wall.
   69. JJ1986 Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:25 AM (#3977396)
I thought that was a long flyout. Ball is carrying better in St. Louis.
   70. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:25 AM (#3977397)
Boom.
   71. Ray (RDP) Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:25 AM (#3977398)
Too bad Pujols wasn't walked in front of Berkman's homer. But it's coming.
   72. Sunday silence Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:26 AM (#3977399)
[ x] new all time post season record is set. (Pujols IBB w/ bases empty in game 5)

Berkman has been really underrated as a playoff hitter - .309/.408/.517 for his career coming into today, and that won't hurt a bit.

Also could have won the MVP for the Series that year if his team hadn't, you know, gotten swept. 5/13, 2 2B, 5 BB, drove in 6 of his team's 14 runs.

You know Garcia, it wouldn't be bad for you at all, to have an inning with no men on base.

Jesus Christ. Take the bunt off when they're that close.

I have liked the filming angles at time in this series. Great view of where Pujols was playing, and the actual live play was surprisingly good. Now if baseball would just use all these camera angles during the regular season.
   94. JE (Jason Epstein) Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:38 AM (#3977423)

Almost Keith Hernandez-like.

Annnnnd Joe Buck had no idea who was up afterwards.
   96. MM1f Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:39 AM (#3977425)
It isn't that AL pitchers can't bunt. It's that David Freese was standing within an arm's reach of Colby Lewis, basically saying "Hey, bunt it right here!"
   97. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: October 28, 2011 at 12:40 AM (#3977426)
