LaRussa is too bombed to make it out to the mound himself.

Fun fact: if this score holds up, this is the first time the home team at Kauffman has lost by as many as eight runs all season.

I think they are only doing this because it's an 8 run game.

Come on, guys, he has to give Papelbon an appearance here. It's not like he's already pitched in four of these games or anything.

Brutal game, but there were many interesting opinions on various women named Kate.

Congrats to the Nationals, who will now host game 1 of the Series!

Well, I guess I'll end the night staring dreamily at Kate Upton photos while I watch "Total Recall."
   719. Monty Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:20 PM (#4179768)

Only to ten, Mudhead.
   720. Gamingboy Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:21 PM (#4179769)
Night all. Thanks for helping make this beatdown almost slightly entertaining.
   721. Guts Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:21 PM (#4179770)
Well, I guess I'll end the night staring dreamily at Kate Upton photos while I watch "Total Recall."

Uh, what were you doing during the game?
   722. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:21 PM (#4179771)

NL Hitting Coach Mark McGwire [ ]
Talk about how well the Pirates and/or Orioles did during the first half [ ]:

They mentioned how the Orioles were playing well when Wieters batted with Jim Johnson warming up, and they had a couple shots of Big Mac, although they didn't mention him.
   723. The elusive Robert Denby Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:22 PM (#4179773)
Uh, what were you doing during the game?

Sending hate e-mail to Robinson Cano.

cmon you KNOW the modern rules are that everyone HAS to play and for once i don't blame TLR
   725. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:24 PM (#4179776)
Thank god I never have to see Tony LaRussa manage a game ever again.
   726. BDC Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:26 PM (#4179777)
I really enjoyed tonight's game, perhaps because it was decided so early and played out as a true exhibition. There were lots of matchups of players I'd heard about but never seen – the purpose of an ASG, IMHO. Great fun! especially the inning that RA Dickey pitched.
   727. RoyalsRetro (AG#1F) Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:26 PM (#4179778)
Good for Melky, he seemed like a good guy when he was in KC with a great attitude. Also I like any personal comeback story that begins with “he ate everything in sight in New York.”
   728. Tuque Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:26 PM (#4179779)
Tony LaRussa looks horrifying. It looks like he must have retired from the game because he came down with some flesh-eating virus. I don't think a professional makeup artist could have done a better job making someone look as disgustingly pale and haggard as he did in that interview right there.
   729. Barnaby Jones Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:27 PM (#4179782)
Clown question!
   730. Ned Garvin: Male Prostitute Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:28 PM (#4179783)
And after the game ends, after forcing Melky to speak in his 2nd language, CLOWN QUESTION.
   731. Dan Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:35 PM (#4179786)
Shitty ASG followed by no baseball for 2 entire days. This ####### sucks.

   733. Tripon Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:37 PM (#4179791)
Technically, he ate everything in sight in Atlanta. He was just chubby in New York.
   734. PreservedFish Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:38 PM (#4179792)
Worst two sports days of the year, right?
   735. Crispix Attacks 2: Swag Airlines Posted: July 10, 2012 at 11:43 PM (#4179796)
Technically, he ate everything in sight in Atlanta. He was just chubby in New York.

No, Joe Buck literally introduced Melky's second at-bat by saying "He ate everything in sight in New York".
   736. Meatwads stronger now, ready for the house Posted: July 11, 2012 at 12:19 AM (#4179812)
7 innings of furcal was not needed
   737. Tripon Posted: July 11, 2012 at 12:30 AM (#4179816)
Really? Joe Buck should get his facts straight.
   738. tshipman Posted: July 11, 2012 at 12:35 AM (#4179819)
I accept the Mets fans apologies. You're welcome for another ASG win.

Signed,
A Giants fan who voted 25 times at the park
   739. Juan V Posted: July 11, 2012 at 03:16 AM (#4179853)
Melky's English is catastrophic. You'd think he'd be able to do better after about 8 years in the US.
