Another dead thread?

Guess not. Noticed that Matt Barnes didn't make the cut for Boston.

Oh wow, they murdered the look of Sickels' site.

I had forgotten that Arodys Vizcaino was this highly thought of before losing the year to TJ... Obviously, he falls - but does he still get a top 50 flyer? Presumably, there are arms that took a step forward and very few pitchers on this list really took a step backwards to deserve to fall of it (maybe Teheran, but when you're top 3 going in, you have to struggle more than he did, I think, to completely fall off it).

We don't know this. This is not his top 50 today, this is his top 50 from last year at this time and how he did with that list. For example, after making 31 MLB starts Matt Moore is no longer a prospect. FTFA;

Remember, this is a PRE-SEASON list. I am working on a new list.

Re-posting the link I saw from Jose in the Sox thread --

Sickels has his top 50 prelims out for pitching and hitting....

A relatively impressive 5 Cubs make the top 50 hitters -- led by Baez clocking in at #5, along with Almora (36), Soler (37), and Dan Vogelbach (50). Plus - I really, really like Christian Villanueva - maybe more than any of those guys save Baez.

None of those guys are particularly advanced -- Vogelbach, in particular, I'm still waiting for someone to prove to me that he's not Brian Dopirak.

Hmmmm....Billy Hamilton #7. I know he's fast as the wind and everything and we're probably all hoping he makes it but he struggles to hit 300 in AA, has no power and Ks a good bit for a guy with his hitting profile. I think we might be talking more Tony Womack than Ichiro.
