2012 World Series Game 4 OMNICHATTER

Remember the 2012 season? It started over in Japan, and, like, it was between the Mariners and the Athletics, and nobody really gave a darn, since OBVIOUSLY neither of them would be in the playoff picture? And remember when Matt Cain threw that perfect game, and the Orioles made the playoffs, and Josh Hamilton went deep four times in one night? And the Red Sox drama! And… and…

Well, this might be it… OR WILL IT?!?

San Francisco Giants (Cain) @ Detroit Tigers (Scherzer). SF leads 3-0.

Oh I know BC won't get it, I'm just wondering if his defensive plays and timely hits are bigger contributions than panda( who has also played good defense)

that's unfair. it was a change up low and away.

Not low enough, not away enough. It just dropped nicely right over the plate. It happens. Bad luck for Scherzer it was against the Giants best hitter.

that's unfair. it was a change up low and away.

Looked to me on replay like it tailed back into the middle of the plate.

Per Giants KNBR radio, the wind is "absolutely howling out to right field" based on the flags. Better be careful to the lefty batters.

edit: or righty batters. :-(

I think Poseys ball might have hooked foul without the wind.

Leyland wisely wanted to keep Theriot in the game.

Thank god, Detroit bullpen.
   329. S.F. Giangst Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:20 PM (#4286599)
I've got this fantasy that Huff hits a pinch hit HR for the game winner. Theriot is helping bring that closer to reality. He's just overmatched. By everybody.

That's because he's not wearing The Thong.

There's only one Octavio.
   335. Swedish Chef Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:25 PM (#4286607)
It's usually the height of folly to make these claims, but I can confidently say that I could have done Theriot's job in this series.

Theriot is helping bring that closer to reality. He's just overmatched. By everybody.

Theriot as a DH is no worse than Quintin Berry batting second. He had a nice long AB in the first inning, but other than that he has not even looked like a major-leaguer this postseason. Or since July.
   338. boteman Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:26 PM (#4286611)
Mike Krukow on KNBR pointing out that Pagan hit for better average from the left side and by bringing in Dotel they are turning him around to his better side with the wind blowing in a helpful direction. ::puzzled::

edit: in other words, it worked. And now, I mute everything.
   339. Gamingboy Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:27 PM (#4286612)
2 pitching changes [x]

Not on this checklist.
   340. Hey - you and Tommy Lasorda...I hate Tommy Lasorda Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:27 PM (#4286613)
Why bring in Octavio? With the wind blowing out to right, don't you want Pagan batting righty?

Very off key rendition of GBA

I don't think so. You could have done exactly what Theriot has done, but the problem is that he's not doing his job.

I have to say...I'd successfully tuned the GBA out until my fiancee said "Oh my god" and scrunched up her nose about halfway through. I thought I'd dropped an SBD without realizing it until she told me what she was reacting to.
   355. boteman Posted: October 28, 2012 at 10:31 PM (#4286631)

Sounded like one of the microphones wasn't working - two of the four parts were quite a bit louder. And neither of them was the melody.

In other news, this is already the most exciting game of the Series so far, and it's the seventh inning.

he was hoping for fielder to step on it and throw to second immediately, but fielder saw it. good play by both, although scutaro could have made it look like he was taking off... if he goes to second he´s out by three miles !
