2012 World Series Game 4 OMNICHATTER

Remember the 2012 season? It started over in Japan, and, like, it was between the Mariners and the Athletics, and nobody really gave a darn, since OBVIOUSLY neither of them would be in the playoff picture? And remember when Matt Cain threw that perfect game, and the Orioles made the playoffs, and Josh Hamilton went deep four times in one night? And the Red Sox drama! And… and…

Well, this might be it… OR WILL IT?!?

San Francisco Giants (Cain) @ Detroit Tigers (Scherzer). SF leads 3-0.

Oh, no. He kept saying it in the bottom of the 9th of the classic game 6 last year. First, he kept wailing against the Rangers for playing the outfield so deep (with the tying run on first) and then when Freese hit the triple, he said "even with the Rangers in their no doubles defense... they give up a double!". Failing to recognize that without the deep outfield defense, Cruz wouldn't have had any shot at that ball...

I thought that too, but judging by the replay he had no shot. The real problem was the throw home, which had no chance and let Scutaro go to second.

I know this is tongue-in-cheek, but the Phantom isn't an especially movable camera, so its football applicability would be limited. Might be usable on both goal lines, though.

Dive or no dive, I'm not sure how he didn't have a better shot at that. It's the 10th inning, it's Marco Scutaro, the winning run is at second, and Jackson's supposed to be a great defender.

I think for the offseason, I'll try to teach myself how to diagnose a check-swing. I can never tell if the batter's "gone around," even in slow motion.
