A baseball literary treasure returns to the spotlight. | SportsonEarth.com : Andy McCullough

Dollar Sign on the Muscle is one of the very best baseball books I have ever read. If you haven’t read the book, do yourself a big favor and get a copy. I can’t recommend this book enough. I own a copy but already purchased the new edition so I can reread the book on my Kindle.

Damn, I remember selling stacks of remaindered first printings of that book for $4.98. Glad I took a copy for myself, cuz it sure ain't $4.98 any more.

I still have my old paperback that I bought back in the 80s. Worth reading, as is Prophet of the Sandlots, which focuses on one scout, Tony Lucadello.

Grabbed an original copy of the hardcover at a used book sale for $5 and enjoyed it greatly. Was surprised to find out it was worth a lot more than that.
