This was a really good read. Stumbled over it just before it was posted here.

I enjoyed it, too. Try this version for a different read-ability.

Man, if that is the most readable version I hate to see what the other version looks like.

“It’s still the only place in the world that changed addresses,’’ Lakey said, “and didn’t move.’’

Due to a rebranding attempt for the office park I work in this happened to my company. What a royal pain in the ass. "Yay, we get to reprint all our letterhead, envelopes, business cards and have to change everything we have that has an address on it."

Score another one for stats vs. scouts, Jose.

Billy Beane should've never opened that office park.

umpteen trips to Scottsdale (and at that intersection countless times) and I've never noticed this place.

Great article - and pictures!

Anyone ever heard of Gordon Lakey before?

I live in an unincorporated part of our county that has a vote coming up to create a new city, Sharon Springs, GA. My home mailing address would change and the location of my rental properties, messing up tax info and the like. I haven't looked into the purpose for the formation of the city, but for me it starts out with at least one strike against it.

Yes, that sometimes happens. Here in Arlington they did some construction on a pair of streets that converged, and somebody who lived at 2325 Norwood suddenly found themselves living at 2287 Abram (or whatever the numbers were). They hung out a sign with both addresses and added "THANKS CITY OF ARLINGTON." This was before 2009 or they would surely have written "THANKS OBAMA."
