AL beats NL for 7th straight All-Star win |

And in a tear-jerking moment in the annual Stand Up To Cancer initiative, Indians starter Carlos Carrasco, who just revealed last week that he is battling leukemia, was joined by his manager, Terry Francona, and his teammates Bieber, Francisco Lindor, Carlos Santana and Brad Hand—all of whom held “I Stand Up For” placards bearing his nickname “Cookie.”

“I think it was extremely special for me, for him, for our teammates, for Terry, and the city of Cleveland as a whole,” Bieber said. “And for him to be doing what he’s doing and kind of turning it over on its head into a positive light and spending more time at the [Cleveland Clinic] Children’s Hospital and spending time with kids, it’s something only he would do.”

One of the best games in recent years. Got to see most of it in between the Fox shenanigans of interviewing players while they were out on the field. I don't hope for a serious injury to a player....particularly one from my team....but I feel it is going to take that before this crap goes away.

I actually prefer the interviews to the announcers talking, but you don't have to show the ####### players while they're being interviewed.

The interview with Charlie Blackmon was so painful. Joe Buck asked him about his beard, and Charlie said his wife didn't like it and he was thinking about shaving it off, "but first we've got a baseball game to finish." Buck was apparently only half-listening, and thought Blackmon said he was going to shave it off when his baseball career was over. It went something like:

Buck: "So...?" Charlie: "What?" Buck: "How much longer are you going to play?" Charlie: "Uh, until they tell me I have to stop."

Relegate the NL.

I hate in-game interviews, but I found that really endearing. I can't see it being interesting after the novelty wears off, so I hope it doesn't become a thing other than the ASG. Instead of Buck interviewing them though I think I'd just rather hear the guys mic'd up and hear their interactions with each other more. Joe asks such inane questions.

Yeah, I wanted to hate the on-field conversations too, but it was actually pretty engaging. Agreed it'd be best to just hear the players without Buck butting in.

I'm not a "Joe Buck ruins everything" guy - I can generally look past his announcing and deal with it. But, his in-game interviews are brutal. I cringe every time they start one up.

If I didn't know who Javier Baez was before the game, it would have ended with me thinking his last name is Elmago.

Oh, but they do! In this way Fox is admitting that a baseball game is boring and monotonous, so they feel compelled to show you something--ANYTHING--other than the game in order to keep you hanging around for the advertisements. One wonders why they paid so much money to carry these games in the first place??
