The White Sox margin for error in the American League Central dropped to one game with 30 to play thanks to Max Scherzer’s dominance during Saturday night’s 5-1 Detroit win before 40,059 at Comerica Park.

Scherzer picked up his fifth straight victory by holding the White Sox to four hits over eight innings… Liriano walked seven in four-plus innings, throwing 100 pitches and striking out five.
