All 16 WBC Provisional Rosters released

Looking for a page that has all of the rosters on one page, but I can’t find one. You need to click the flag logos to see them. Also, they aren’t final- some of the rosters still aren’t at the full 28, some of the players aren’t officially in yet due to insurance issues, etc.

All 16 provisional rosters for the upcoming World Baseball Classic were revealed Thursday with a bevy of big-name Major Leaguers committing to the third edition of the international tournament.

Among the most promiment were Miguel Cabrera, the Tigers third baseman and reigning American League Most Valuable Player and Triple Crown winner, who will play for Venezuela; Dodgers infielder Hanley Ramirez, Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes for the Dominican Republic; Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who is on the Mexico roster, and outfielder Carlos Beltran and catcher Yadier Molina—both of the Cardinals—for Puerto Rico.

I didn't read the intro and I was really confused to see that Japan was going to the WBC with 3 catchers and 4 infielders, one of whom is Kaz Matsui. I thought he was retired, but apparently he just went back to Japan.

Anybody else find it odd that Italian American starting first baseman outhit the American American starting first baseman last year?

Karim Garcia (yes, that one!) is going to be doing a lot of running in the OF.

While looking at Italy's roster, they have a guy named Chris Colabello, who was at AA New Britain last season. After 7 years in the Can-Am league! That's some perseverance.

The Honkbalers only have one catcher. Come back, Kenley Jansen!

It's a preliminary roster. The Honkbalers will find their catcher, and damn, that middle infield of Profar and Andrelton Simmons- how many MLB teams would kill for that?

Another note on catchers, the Brazilians are missing their one major leaguer, Yan Gomes. They do have a lot of Japanese-surnamed guys. That's the team I'm most excited to get a glimpse of.

Yan Gomes apparently hasn't made his mind up, since he was traded shortly after he played in qualifiers, so he's checking with camp first.

The large number of Japanese-surnamed players are a result of the large number of Japanese expats that live in Brazil. Up until relatively recently, they made up the vast majority of Brazilian baseball players.

Holy cow is the USA team gonna mash.

No Starlin Castro for the DR, apparently he did not make the roster, but Reyes, Hanley Ramirez, and Miguel Tejada

I was actually kind of disappointed by that. The Pirates have a young catching prospect named Danny Arribas who has played for them in the past, and I'm not sure why the Dutch didn't pick him this time around.

Weird that Bruce Chen is playing for China. Less weird than Jewish players playing for Israel, but he's 2nd/3rd generation Panamanian. Oh, right, Panama lost it's qualifiers.

Pujols apparently isn't playing because he couldn't get insurance for his knee due to his giganto-contract.

Oh, I found the full rosters in PDF format (along with what team that are normally with) at link that can be found here.

I'm disappointed to find out that they don't have a Team Canada jersey for sale at MLB.com.

Australia, Venezuela, Netherlands...but no Canada.
