I'm much more comfortable with FB's rating him as an average CF, which is fairly consistent with where he has been.

He was considered raw when he came up, but very physically talented. Some raw players never improve, but some actually do gain experience and take advantage of their physical talents. Just from watching him (yes, not as good as play by play results) he does look like he is vastly better at reading the ball off the bat than two years ago. So I would expect some improvement in his numbers.

I don't think it's an insult calling someone an average major league CF though (it's a compliment, actually, especially for someone as his physicality).

Well, it's an insult if he's actually an above average defensive major league CF. Or should we say that Albert Pujols is an average major league hitter?

Two very analogous situations.

The biggest thing about Kemp's fielding this year is his huge amount of rage. And Kemp grabs a *lot* of flyballs from left to right.

Purely anecdotal evidence but as a Giants fan, Kemp has looked amazing out there in CF - seems to run everything down and then some.

The biggest thing about Kemp's moods this year is his huge amount of rage.

Yes, I noticed that typo after the fact.

It's too bad Milton Bradley's huge amount of rage doesn't make him an amazing CF.

Bradley's a good centerfielder (or at least was when he was younger). He just can't play the position without either a) pulling some muscle he did not know he had, or b) picking a fight with a group of fans in the bleachers, the team's owner, the equipment manager, a random hot dog seller, two aliens watching from a passing spaceship, etc.

John McCain rallies support for Mark Reynolds.
And John McCain kept his word, sending a tweet out.
Thumbs up, Senator!

From Diamond Lueng:

"Matt Kemp has pretty much made the National League All-Star team, this after the fans picked Shane Victorino in the Final Vote over Pablo Sandoval. MLB was already pushing NL manager Charlie Manuel to pick Kemp over his own player Victorino even if Sandoval had won the vote."

Ah man! Victorino got voted in over Sandoval?

Yep. And I think there's a rule that an injury replacement has to play the same position. So unless Sandoval plays left field, Kemp is going to the all-star game.
