Andrew McCutchen exits with knee discomfort | MLB.com

“If a knee can get a cramp, that’s what it felt like,” McCutchen said. “Your knee kind of locks up. You wait for it to go away, it goes away. That’s what I was trying to do—wait for it to go away—and it never went away. I knew if I tried to run, I’d be base-to-base. Next thing I know, I’ve got some angry fans screaming, ‘Why didn’t Cutch score?’”

I'd guess they didn't know you were injured. If they did, then yes, that's crappy.

And "Cutch" is f!@#ing stupid.

Polanco has re-re-re-injured his hamstring, so it looks like McCutchen will be returning to the Pirates' unique, two-outfielder lineup.

He was on second when he came out of the game, so he was just speculating as to what might have happened had he stayed in and tried to run.

Billy Face: OK. But I think my point still stands, even as a hypothetical.

Of course. I think it's probably pretty unlikely to have happened, though, given how popular McCutchen is and the fact that he was obviously favoring the knee when he was leading off second.
