AP: Marlins’ Ramirez says he’ll accept switch to 3B

“I have spoken with Guillen,’’ Ramirez said. “What we want is to win with the Marlins. We will see what’s going to happen with the position switch and everything else. If it’s third base, OK. Wherever they put me to win, I will do so.’’ ...

The two Dominicans are friendly, although Reyes recently said he hadn’t heard from his fellow All-Star since signing.

“Between Reyes and me there is no problem,’’ Ramirez said. “I respect him very much. He is a great person.’’

Is it me, or is this an attempt to create a story where none exists? Why should he necessarily have heard from Ramirez?

They're both Dominican. Surely they've run into each other on the street in Dominican City, and Ramirez must have given him the cold shoulder.

I initially read this as Manny Ramirez was willing to move to 3B.

I thought Aramis Ramirez was a thirdbaseman.

I'd pay to see that; especial amounts of fun would be had seeing him charge slow rollers.

What makes you think he'd actually move on a slow roller?

I dunno; I could see him move, loping towards it with that big Manny grin and completely butchering it.

It certainly would be entertaining.

Same here.

Selig should waive the suspension if Manny plays third - in the best interest of baseball.

Let's be fair. When he was on second base and someone hit a double, he made every effort to move to third base.

Hey Al why do they never mention me. I am willing to move to third base or left field or the STARDING ROTATION hint hint or be the Bench Coach but when do I get credit. This is a media cospiracy Al.
