AP: Tim Hudson gets into fiery exchange with reporter over Griffey fiasco

The reporter was Dave O’Brien of the AJC, though it is not stated in this article.

But there was clearly some bitterness over the turn of events, some of it directed at media outlets that reported Griffey had decided to play for Atlanta. Pitcher Tim Hudson got into a heated argument in the clubhouse with a newspaper reporter, claiming his story angered Griffey and led him to back out of dealings with the Braves. A team official had to step in and lead Hudson to a back room.

Fight, fight, fight!

And DOB told Tim that he needs to put that fire into the dance.

Hudson should fight the reporter, he's already injured so it's better timing than the night before the biggest game of his life.

Here's what O'Brien said of it in his blog:

"it was nothing more than raised voices. And I, for once in my life, actually was the calmer of the two. Anyone who knows me would find that hard to believe, but it’s true in this instance. Really.
But it was nothing more than raised voices, and mine really wasn’t raised much at all. Lasted a few minutes, nothing more."

When young guys raising their voices at each other is news, it's mid-February.

I haven't read much of O'Brien's stuff but reading his blog post after Griffey signed with the Mariners' and Colin's quote in #3 he seems to be a pretty upstanding guy. I compare his comment above to what a guy like Dan Shaughnessy would say if a player got in his face over something like this and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be "it was nothing more than raised voices."

"Please don't hurt me."

"Please don't hurt me."

Only if the guy in his face was Jim Rice.

....Lasted a few minutes, nothing more."

That's a long time to be arguing with "raised voices".
