8th trade between these two teams since May 2007. The list:

August 23, 2013: The Oakland Athletics traded Dakota Bacus (minors) to the Washington Nationals for Kurt Suzuki.

March 20, 2013: As part of a 3-team trade: The Oakland Athletics sent a player to be named later, A.J. Cole (minors) and Blake Treinen (minors) to the Washington Nationals. The Seattle Mariners sent John Jaso to the Oakland Athletics. The Washington Nationals sent Mike Morse to the Seattle Mariners. The Oakland Athletics sent Ian Krol (March 20, 2013) to the Washington Nationals to complete the trade.

August 3, 2012: The Washington Nationals traded David Freitas (minors) to the Oakland Athletics for Kurt Suzuki and cash.

December 23, 2011: The Washington Nationals traded A.J. Cole (minors), Tommy Milone, Derek Norris and Brad Peacock to the Oakland Athletics for Robert Gilliam (minors) and Gio Gonzalez.

December 16, 2010: The Oakland Athletics traded Corey Brown and Henry Rodriguez to the Washington Nationals for Josh Willingham.

June 26, 2007: The Washington Nationals sent Jermaine Van Buren to the Oakland Athletics as part of a conditional deal.

May 2, 2007: The Washington Nationals traded Chris Snelling to the Oakland Athletics for Ryan Langerhans.

Corey Brown joins Kurt Suzuki and A.J. Cole on the list of players who've been both traded away and then later reacquired by these two teams.

and Brown makes the third player to go back-and-forth.

I guess he's AAA depth since he's never actually done anything particularly impressive. Of all the people traded back and forth is it basically Gio Gonzalez that's actually good, Jaso, Willingam, Milone and Norris sort of useful. I'm not counting Cole since he's back where he started. I guess Henry Rodriguez had a good month, Brad Peacock fetched the head and shoulders of Jed Lowrie, and Robert Guillaume played Benson Dubois.

Hey, don't forget, Ian Krol (Mister "If everything breaks right, he could be the next J.C. Romero!") nabbed them Doug Fister.

All I need to do is find out when Dave Dombrowski will be near a book depository.

And Langerhans was traded straight up for Morse.

That's missing the two other trades the A's and Nats have made this offseason:

John Wooten for Fernando Abad
Jerry Blevins for Billy Burns

Oh, wow! I'd completely missed the Abad trade.

So, ten trades in 7 years. That's impressive!
