A’s McCarthy asks Siri for Josh Hamilton advice

Bah! At this point I’d rather get advice from Miri (“Bonk! Bonk! On the head! Bonk! Bonk!”) than Siri!

As Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton continues to annihilate the baseball at record-breaking rates, pitchers around the American League are scratching their heads trying to figure out a way to get Hamilton out.

Oakland pitcher Brandon McCarthy, who’s Athletics head to Arlington for a two-game series this week, went right past his pitching coaching and manager for advice.

He asked Siri.

“Siri, how do you get Josh Hamilton out?” McCarthy tweeted on his Twitter page, @BMcCarthy32.

Ask siri what is the best smart phone.

Ask your phone. And if it doesn't respond, you don't have Siri.

If it responds with some nonsense you have siri. If it response with the actual answer then you have an Android with Vlingo.

Doesn't look like he actually asked it. Just a joke he posted on Tweeter. Which he does a lot. I've looked at that website more than twice in the last couple weeks - for the first time in my life - specifically because of him.

That's because, at the moment at least, there is no answer possible. If you substituted the Magic 8 ball for Siri, the "answer" you'd get would be: "Reply hazy...try again later."

McCarthy had a funny take on lacrosse this weekend too. He's one of the funniest people in my twitter feed, and I have a lot of professional comedians in there (many of which are surprisingly unfunny)
