Astros have plans for Ric Flair if Yankees series goes to Game 7 - Houston Chronicle

The Astros-Yankees American League Championship Series gets to a Game 7, the Astros will have pro wrestling superstar Ric Flair call out “Play Ball!” before the game in a video message.
Astros right fielder Josh Reddick is a huge wrestling fan and uses Flair’s entrance music every time he steps to the plate at Minute Maid Park. Fans also have adopted the wrestler’s “Woo!” yell throughout the season.

Almost enough to make me root for the Yankees in Game 6.

He's the greatest pro-wrestler in the history of the art, but a sad cautionary tale as well.

Looking forward to the "30 for 30" on him that comes out in a couple of weeks.

I like the old wrestling from my childhood (I can't stand the product nowadays). Flair was a big name, but I never saw him wrestle as he was generally in the South and I was in California. I just find him obnoxious.

I love that it's identified as "Flair's entrance music".

I met Rick Flair ringside as a kid. He never looked in my direction (that I could tell behind the shades) as he signed my paper while scanning the arena for trim.

Flair sans bleached 'do

That link is from a story about Flair's air mishap and another plane crash that ###### up a lot of wrestlers in 1975.

I hear that, just like KFC in the 80s, they can only afford a Ric Flair impersonator.

The Yankees should go full heel and bring back Eric Bischoff to "fire" Flair.

Does that explain Reddick's 0 for 17 so far in this series?

Is Mr. Fuji available? I liked him.

Meanwhile, the Nats just fired Dusty Baker.

Oh please please please let the Mets hire him. That would be so entertaining. Or maybe Boston.

Mr Fuji died last year.

An acceptable substitute, but he died a year ago.

Edit: Coke to Tulo
