Athletics sweep Indians with 12-7 win

The only downside for the Oakland Athletics is that they don’t play the Cleveland Indians again this season.

Oakland capped a four-game sweep of the free-falling Indians with a 12-7 victory on Thursday. The Athletics, who have won six straight and eight of nine, finish the season series against Cleveland with an 8-2 record. After dropping the first two games in April, Oakland won the final eight versus the Indians.

Oakland is 61-35 with Cespedes in the lineup.

The A’s have now surpassed the Indians, and have only the THIRD-worst offense in the AL. So there, Ray Ratto!

Somebody over at Athletics Nation pointed out that the A's have only 4 guys with an ERA over 4.00. I looked up some of the competitors and came up with this list.

Oakland

4 guys with over 125 innings

LAAA

12 guys with over 650 IP (probably the difference in standings right there especially with a better offense DAMN YOU TROUT!)

Texas

10 guys with over 430 IP

Detroit

11 guys with over 480 IP

Tampa Bay

4 guys with over 120IP (pretty good)

NYY

8 guys with over 450IP (Phil Hughes is 4.02 with 150IP just barely snuck in there)

Could say 7 guys with 300IP which isn’t terrible.

Baltimore

11 guys with over 340IP

EDIT: Park factors are obviously an issue with this quick lookup but still.
