BAGNOLOSPROPHETICS: Bagnolo: Baseball, Bigotry and Barry Bonds Part Un

Prof. Bagnolo, “a triple bachelor’s degree in Painting and Drawing, Anthropology, Architectural Design Advertising”...and now a Primate in good standing!

Many white people hate Barry Bonds more than they do The Bushites. That is why America is so screwed-up.

On the international Level, we have men in political high office committing every crime in the book. We have a White house filled with war criminals-Adolph Hitler wannabe’s, and 1.5 Million people dead, 4.5 Million casualties and 4.5 million Diaspora in Iraq over oil, more than one third the population of that nation, and lunatics trying to start WW III over more oil, and the Grand Jury is persecuting a Black hero? Shades of The Clinton Impeachment!??

On the national level sometime back, we had a new black all-time homerun king who was somewhat likeable, somewhat pliable, but now his lifetime homerun record and the season’s homerun record was crushed by a very outspoken, not so likeable, rather testy, aggressive, black home run king. Now the scum of the world want to stop him from adding to his record and want to obliterate him as they did to OJ Simpson.

Then we have the Scientific (A new word for baseball fans especially local idiots on radio and network cable) File on the statistical likelihood of Homerun hitting, by brilliant professors, scientists and medical doctors, showing that steroids have NOTHING to do with home run hitting and are actually a disruptive neuro-muscular force within a player, which interferes with hitting, by slowing and confusing timing and retarding reflexes.

I might agree with some of this, if some of it wasn't such crazed lunacy. In fact, it's making me rethink some of my positions.

According to his bio, Bagnolo was some sort of child prodigy who now styles himself a "professor" and renaissance man. He's either a brilliant parody of the type, or a very sad, confused, crazy person.

I mean, a little help? Satire?

I posted a sleek article a week or so by Bagnolo and he musta seen the hits, joined Primer and sent this bit in...now if the Prof can drag himself away from re-painting the Sistine Chaplin and jump in, we'd have something!
   5. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: December 22, 2007 at 08:14 PM (#2652265)
I don't think that's very nice, Repoz. He's clearly a troubled guy, and his writing is only going to be mocked roundly here. Trying to get him to join in smacks of sadism.

At least he'll get some good pharmaceutical advice here.

I dunno MCoA, this really could be some sort of Ann Magnuson performance art thing that I'm just not getting. Granted it's not very funny on its face (too long for starters), but neither was Ann Magnuson. The only way it's funny is if it's sincere.

I'm honestly stumped...
   8. Voros McCracken, Human Shield Posted: December 22, 2007 at 08:21 PM (#2652269)
If this is sincere, he's well past my pharmaceutical territory. I don't think Seroquel's the ticket here.

This guy has an odd vaguely baroque-era habit of capitalizing random Nouns. It makes it hard to take him seriously, even if I'd like to.

Question: If there were a wave of scientific study showing that steroids do not increase home-run output, would opinions (both generally, and yours in particular) change concerning Bonds?

This is a case of the messenger clouding the message. His points have merit and have been repeated by others previously. However, his delivery is so over-the-top that the validity of his presentation gets lost in the emotion he displays. The most surprising contention he puts forth is that steroids slow the brain's / body's reflexes to actually inhibit the ability to hit the ball. If that is true it certainly undercuts all of the critics who claim taking drugs help people hit with more power.

I'd be curious to see what the statisticians who often post on this blog think of the link within his article. My knowledge of Statistics is nowhere near on the plane at which the theories and data are presented. However, the underlying theory that with training and experience we should expect a progression in player abilities to achieve these peaks further impugns the self-assureds claim of it being drug induced only.

I am not a big fan of the racial aspect. I think Bonds gets the treatment he does because he does not play nice with the self appointed guardians of the game (the media). However, I do wonder what would have been the media's slant had Mark McGwire been the one chasing Aaron instead.

I mean I used to believe several of the things he said (I used to think the balls were made liver around 1993 whether intentionally or otherwise). When I say "I used to believe" I mean I believed them about an hour ago before he started agreeing with me.

This is so beyond false that it hurts me to think about it.

Additionally, O.J. Simpson is a criminal. Mark Chmura is not exactly living the high life either.

I don't buy the racism-in-sports nonsense because the grand daddy of athletics, ESPN, did their who's now thing as voted on by the fans last year (and perpetuated by their own media machine) and exactly one half of one of the final four people was white.

When all else fails, play the OJ card. That won't work with me, though. Yeah, I realize OJ was just an innocent black man who was framed for murder. Well, double-murder, that is. But I lost all respect for the Juice when he stole cable television. Or was it satellite? Whatever, OJ no longer represents purity and goodness. Robbing the cable company is beyond the pale.

You'd assume the son of a child prodigy, teenage hitting phenomenon and renaissance man could figure out how to put together a hyper-link.

You know how world-renowned super-brains like Quantum Physicists and Super Mathematicians use all these complicated shenanigans to think in circles, generally reaching a point of unsolvable nonsense in which they tend to all disagree with each other and create their own, convoluted, ridiculous theories about things that the human race has somehow survived without the knowledge of for thousands upon thousands of years?

Yeah, well, it just means that given enough variables, nothing is really knowable, and people who devote their lives to try to uncover this crap through years of pointless, derived research are just masturbating their own selfish, unattractive need for false fulfillment. Especially if we take ourselves too seriously, don't you think!?

"Perez Hilton" probably has thrice as many readers and Jim Abbott threw a no-hitter with one hand.

Congratulations.

I don't think either black or white America would be wise to bring up OJ. That whole situation was a travesty on all sides from what happened to how it was handled to how it was reacted to.

When an all-white group of prospective Chicago teachers chose to use their group presentation time of Lisa Delphit's amazing work to burn the book and OJ Simpson in effigy, that told me all I needed to know about how the OJ trainwreck mated with white America's own pathological dysfunction.

I can hate OJ--which I do--and still not use him as a tool to handwave away all racism in America and the criminal justice system.

This book was reviewed by Ike Farrell on Amazon.com. Here is what Mr. Farrell had to say:

"This could be the most unreadable book since 'One Day at Fenway.' The writing is awful. Peter Bagnolo stuffs every bad cliche you never want to read into its unintentionally juvenile 244 pages. When you combine science fiction, King Arthur and racism into a baseball fable, you get a Lost Seasons: The Worst Book I Ever Read."

The idiot brought up Adolf Hitler by his fourth sentence, and everything else he had to say from that point on was downhill.

between 60-100 .. thats pretty scientific ..

Jack O'Grady Here, Mr Ripkin, you are an envious, unscrupulous, impotent liar. I read Lost Seasons, it was excellent. If you wrote the lying review, which at this moment does not appear on Amazon, it is because you envy the prof. I met him and his lovely wife and children at a book signing and you couldn't wipe his shoes. HE COULD SUBTRACT YOUR IQ FROM HIS AND STILL PASS THE BAR EXAM.

You never read the book and I doubt you are capable of reading more than one line without losing concentration. You are blowbag of jealous, slandering dog-food. Now I will tell you a story. About 2 years ago someone online slandered the prof and got sued and is now bankrupt. He used a phony name and the prof's lawyers hunted him down and sued his duff off. Apparently you missed that well publicized case, probably because you are just learning how to read without moving your lips

So, go on slander some more and think you are safe from the courts, you find that you are not and I am sending a copy of this page to the prof right now. I happen to know you have followed the prof around the net bad mouthing him with lies because you are envious and I think you have the hots for Him, don't you?

Well, Mr. Ripoffkin "GOT THE HOTS FOR THE PROF" let's see how smart you are when a subpoena shows up at your sub-basemen, below street-level, apartment.Ripkin Loves the prof, HAHAHAHAHA!
Instead slandering successful people you envy, why not try to educate yourself... what am I saying, one actually needs a brain to do that.
At least the prof uses his real name. HEY EVERYONE GOOGLE THE PROF ( Professor Emeritus Peter Bagnolo) AND THEN AFTER 15 OR 20 PAGES OF HIS HISTORY, GOOGLE RIFKIN AND SEE WHO THE BETTER Man is. By the way, his son is 12 years old, idiot.

Perhaps it's piling on, but I'm an architect, and a course of study that might fit under the heading of a bachelor's degree in "Architectural Design Advertising" has to be some kind of oddball, correspondence school degree, if that--I'd be surprised if a legit school offered something with this title. I'm even having trouble imagining what someone with a degree with this name would do, since architects don't develop designs and then go around advertising them. That's just not the way the profession works.

YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO A SKOOL AND YOU DON'T KNOW! I DOUBT YOU'RE EVEN CAPABLE OF PASSING THE SECOND GRADE, YOU PANTS-PISSING INFIDEL!

ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO SOMEONE FROM SOMEWHERE SUGGESTED THAT PROF BOLAPOLAGOASAURUS WASN'T A GENIUS AND WAS PROMPTLY PUT IN THE LEX LUGER TORTURE RACK AND THEN #####-SLAPPED BY THE HAND OF GOD HIMSELF.

SO CAPTAIN ARKASTUPID "YOU'RE GAY", LETS SEE HOW WILLING YOU ARE TO LIBEL DOCTOR BARRY MANILOW AFTER THE NEW WORLD ORDER COMES KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR STEP. INSTEAD OF POSTING ON AN INTERNET WEB-SITES, WHY NOT GO GET A BACHELORS DEGREE IN OBJECTIVE PAINTING SKILLS OR PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE CONTEMPORARY POST-MODERN DADA AMERICAN CULTURE STUDIES????? GOOGLE "AWESOME" OR LOOK UP GREEN LANTERN IN THE DICTIONARY FOR PICTURES OF PROFESSOR BRUCE BANNER INVENTING TREES, SEX, ENLIGHTENMENT AND FREE THOUGHT. THEN SEE WHO IS THE BETTER MAN?!?!!!!!?~!!!!? BY THE WAY CAPTAIN SUCKSHEAD, HIS SON IS 12 YEARS OLD, DUMBY.

architects don't develop designs and then go around advertising them.

That's why you need guys like Bang.

This thread ranks very highly on the Unintentional Comedy Rating. All we need now is Tracy Ringolsby to chime in.

That would've deserved a primey, but you decided to reference Lex Luger instead of the Iron Sheik.

"Jack O'Grady Here, Mr Ripkin, you are an envious, unscrupulous, impotent liar."

When I was in college (a bit more than 20 years ago), most of my fellow poker plays called me "Cal". The ones who didn't like me called me "Billy."

"I read Lost Seasons, it was excellent."

I didn't. I relied on the review by Ike Farrell to form my view. How unscrupulously impotent of me.

I searched JackOGrady in google, and this was what i came up with.

Funny, I came up with "[see Art Vandelay]"

"You are blowbag of jealous, slandering dog-food. Now I will tell you a story."

Isn't that a line straight out of Dianetics?

"By the way, his son is a 12 year old idiot.

That's hitting below the belt, Jack.

A genuine question for those in the know: This is like Fafblog right? Just a character someone is playing and not a real person? Because I can't find any reference to this person in a google search that isn't just a random internet posting.

I think that all you people making fun of James Pidutti are all jealous and have nothing else better to do. He obviously has talent if the Blue Jays are interested in him. I personally think that he is going to do the best that he possibly could do to make it to the big leagues, even making it this far is something to be proud of. He as an awesome arm that is going to take him places, very good for being left handed. He is a good well rounder player, not only is he good at pitching but he excels anywhere on the field. We are all very proud of him, us Sudburians, and we wish him the best. And for people making smart comments it just shows your insecurities and that you wish you could be.

first of all colin farrell is on great actor look at phone booth and tigerland and the recruit with al pacino. so in three years became on the a-list of actors and colin is in demand now, now he is shooting alexander the great with angelina jolie. and he also worked with samuel jackson on swat which was great by the way. and bruce willis in harts war. so he worked with alot of great big actors. and was great in minority report with tom cruise. and daredevil and the villian bullseye with ben affleck. and colin was the best thing in the movie and the critics agree. so colin is a way better actor then ben affleck. im responding to the post from alex about at least ben affleck got some credit under his belt but colin is hotter and a better actor and he is getting alot more movies then ben. so please did you see bens last movie with jay-lo called gigli. need i say more the movie sucked as hell and even the critics said the worst movie of the century. it only made 20 million in the theatres now thats sad.

Easiest way to spot a faux-intellectual: misspelling of Adolf Hitler's name. Don't ask me why...there just seems to be a one-to-one correlation between charlatans and an inability to get the guy's name right.
