Baker denies rumors about kid

There’s been a persistent rumor floating around the Reds that Baker’s 28-year-old daughter, Natosha, is dating and/or engaged to outfielder Corey Patterson.

Baker finally had enough when players on the Astros asked him about it.

There’s no truth to it, Baker said. Natosha is not dating Patterson.

“She hasn’t even been to Cincinnati,” Baker said. “This is so far out of line. It’s hurtful to my wife and daughter. How can people stoop that low? I don’t know who started it. But I’ve been hearing from fans, players, announcers.”

Repoz probably has something funnier to say about this.

Aw, the title is so misleading.

I guess that was the only way for Patterson to get Baker to play him.

Baker really doesn't like Corey Patterson.

Reminds me of the rumors that floated around Pittsburgh about Cowher having an affair with Kordell's sister in the late '90s. Not true, of course (I don't think Kordell even had a sister), but sometimes when an unpopular player receives substantial playing time, a certain type of fan likes to reach for nepotistic sex as an explanation.

I hate you for saying this before I had a chance.

How does that work in this situation? Baker chooses to play Patterson because Patterson is sexing up Baker's daughter? I'm pretty sure that it would be more likely that such an act would result in Patterson's demotion, rather than expanded playing time.

The real rumor is that it's Baker himself dating Patterson.

Patterson can't hit that either? geeze.

More likely that Cowher had an affair with Kordell.

Or, there's the possibility that Dusty blew her arm out too...

The Bakers prefer older guys.

This made me try to think of a joke involving Cowher's propensity for spitting all over the place, and now I want to throw up.

nepotistic sex

Now *there's* a phrase to savor.

Excellent! Kudos.

At least, now we know that Dusty's standards as far as locating a mate for his daughter are situated somewhere north of the Mendoza Line.
   18. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 25, 2008 at 05:39 PM (#2954895)
Yes, but is there any validity to the rumors that Darren Baker is dating Corey Patterson?
   19. Halofan Posted: September 25, 2008 at 05:48 PM (#2954912)
Then the Astros asked for her number...

I'm disappointed nobody asked Dusty if he felt white players lacked the sexual stamina to sex up his daughter properly during the lengthy summers.

I think Brandon Backe would concur.

She doesn't have time to date, what with Dusty making her throw 160 pitches in the backyard every 5th day.

Maybe this was a prolonged slump-busting effort.
