Barry Bonds now has the No. 1 Black Miniature Schnauzer in America

There are a bunch of numbers associated with Barry Bonds. Like 25—his uniform number—or 762, the number of homers he hit in his career. It’s time a learn a new one: No. 1, the ranking that the American Kennel Club gave Bonds’ Black Miniature Schnauzer, Apollo. Oh yeah, and Bonds has the No. 3-ranked Black Miniature Schnauzer in Apollo’s sister, Bonnie.

Those are some really good looking dogs.  But the headline has one thing wrong, he doesn’t have it all yet because he’s still not inducted into the HOF.

Succeeding where the honorable Justice Kennedy failed.

Re: 94 & 95, we have a cat who's like a dog, which has made him... larger. We named him Saul, after Saul Tigh, because he only has one eye, but very soon after that we just started call him Fat Saul. We got him as a stray kitten who was found with the rest of his litter floating on debris after a local minor flood. He only squeaks, we think because he used up all his meowing while almost starving to death. He's about 5 now, and every time we feed him it's like the first time we fed him, he's that happy to be eating again.

Our cat acts like a dog and wife’s sister has a dog that we dogsit for that acts like a cat. Our cat comes when called, likes to sleep with you at night, growls when the doorbell rings, is intensely curious about strangers in the house. He’ll follow them around and get in their business. He goes crazy by the backdoor like a dog when he wants to go outside and will sit patiently by your side while you’re eating hoping for scraps.

The last dog we bought from a pet store was a mixed breed puppy -- half silky, half Jack Russell. We had to euthanize her this past Memorial Day, after 17 years together. Still hurts.

In August, we picked up a Tibetan spaniel from the Kauai Humane Society, roughly 5.5 years old at the time. He owner passed. Took her a little while to adapt from the Country to the Big City (Honolulu), but she is now fully acclimated, and a joy. We are definitely her property at this point.

People have been breeding dogs for specific purposes for centuries, including as companions. You buy a breed for the look, for the size, for the (expected) characteristics.

Some people just should not be allowed to own dogs. And a very large percentage of commercial breeders should be put out of business yesterday.

And, to disagree with snapper (what else is new), anyone involved in any way in the dog fighting should be flayed. Some people deserve to be tortured.

Can we compromise on shooting them? Or letting them be torn apart by packs of wild animals?

It's sometimes permissible to kill a human, it's never permissible to torture them.

Obviously.

Animals raised for meat deserve to be given a not terrible life before they're slaughtered. It's not something we're good at doing, though.

But even factory farming has an end outside of "hurting something that can feel pain.".

Concur.

OK good. I oppose people torturing others, but wild animals are gonna wild. It's what they do.

This is why you don't flip-flop while waiting for your case to be called in the courtroom.

Someone did invent an atomic clock wrist watch. It looks hideous and is the size of a laptop

What's the point of conspicuous consumption if it isn't conspicuous?

   116. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Griffin (Vlad) Posted: January 11, 2019 at 07:05 PM (#5804840)
Why not just wear an atomic clock around your neck, like Flavor Flav?
