You know, the Braves take a lot of flack for that, but the city isn't blameless. If you go look into the situation, the city made a lot of promises to the team. Then, when the time came to make good on those promises they strung the Braves along while diverting the funds into the Falcons. I think there was even an email link were the city was promising things they clearly had no intention of delivering on.
And keep in mind, the relatively cheap improvements the Braves were asking for were conditions of the lease agreement. The city owned Turner, the lease was up, the Braves asked the city for improvements before they'd sign a new lease. If my lease on my house runs out, and I ask my landlord to make some improvements, and he refuses, how am I not within my rights to leave?
The shadiness with Cobb is a different story, but the two events should really be considered somewhat separately.
? They play in Disney's wide world of sports complex in orlando.
Yes. The Astros were in Kissimmee.
Huh. Looking at the map that's true, but every advert says Orlando, and I've been down there for something like 13 straight years and the phrase "Champion Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando Florida" is more or less drilled into my brain. I think all the parks are part of their own incorporated township anyway so its probably neither.

Um, the Braves were given a sweetheart deal when they got the stadium in Atlanta and now Cobb county is giving them a sweetheart deal.
Well, according to Google maps, it's probably neither. The complex is nowhere near the borders or either Orlando or Kissimmee. However, Google maps does give its address as 700 S Victory Way, Orlando, FL 34747, and it's on Disney property which has the address in Orlando. It's not in Orlando proper, but neither is it in Kissimmee, though it is much closer to the latter.
