Let's have some personal responsibility here.

Red Sox fans predict 3rd place finish for 2006.

I realize I picked the Red Sox to bow out this year and am one of the more pessimstic sorts when it comes to my favorite team....however, the record clearly indicates that I (correctly) picked the Red Sox to win the World Series this time last season.

Now Al they want to know who will win the World Serious and everyone needs the inside dope. In our league Al do you know how long it has been since the White Sox won 1917 says Ozzie Guillen he would know Al he is been around the block. Now last year the Red Sox won because they had not won since 1918 that means we do them one better we will beet them Al. Mean while the Yankees let us take a random sampling Al as my friends with the sprit sheets love to do. If you look at right field N.Y. has Gary Shuffled he has arfritis of the limbs Al. Where as you look at the Los Angels of Anywho and they have Flabby Guerrero who could give Shuffled 50 yards in the 40 yard dash Al and so I deduce that the Angels will win out.

The National League who gives a fruit basket I guess I pick San Dago that is a pretty town Al have you ever been their.

Now when we play the Angles it stands to rights that we will win Al because their best pitcher is called Colon and that keeps cracking them up when they read it on his back during an inning.

So now we play San Dago in the World Serious and jeepers cripes Al they are a five hundred team we take in in four unless they get a win out of Jake Peevish.

You heard it here first.

That's awesome.

I'm actually surprised at the number of people here picking Chicago over Boston. That's certainly not the popular pick.

I think the White Sox have about a 50-50 chance, myself, but to hear ESPN tell it, the Angels and White Sox are just warm-ups for round three of the Big Showdown.

every single one of these teams with the possible exception of the Cards has significant flaws. the Braves have an iffy bullpen, the Yankees and Sox are even worse. the Padres are only mediocre. the white sox have good pitching, but not enough hitting, the astro's are even worse.

what does a quote from Revelation have to do with your predictions?

Just a guess -- note who JLAC picked to win the WS, and then note the last word from the passage. That's how I read it, anyway.

Yankees and Sox are even worse

The Yankees have Sturtze, Gordon and Rivera in the pen, and get to use Small there as well. For some reason, though, Embree is on the roster. Why is Embree on the roster?! Why are they using a twelve man pitching staff in the playoffs? If Mussina is healthy, then the Yankees don't have any clear flaws.

So people at home can amuse themselves by saying "Peanut...hazelnut...cashew nut...pistachio nut...red pistachio nut...all natural white pistachio nut..." whenever they cut to a closeup of him, like we did last year.
