Daniel Nava needs just two more to equal Pujols!

I was most surprised to see Ian Kennedy on the list with 4 walks, and that he has 15 in 159 PA over his career.

The Rockies have a couple of guys with horrendous K:BB ratios--Wilin Rosario (17K's, 2 BB's, 51PA's) and Tyler Colvin (19:2 in 54 PA's, yet a .314 Avg).

I was wondering how horrible this was so I was looking through 2012 leaders. Ex-Rockie Clint Barmes leads the pack with 26K's and 1 BB in 101 PA. That's amazing. John Mayberry Jr is 2nd with 21 K/1BB in 77 PA's.

Also astounding: Endy Chavez has a IF/FB rate of 43% in 65 PA's. BB-ref says line drives are included in IF/FB, but that's still a painful % of pop-ups.

Wilin Rosario

Wilin' Rosario? Almost as good as Wile E. Mo Pena.

He's the Mickey Lolich of our generation.

He's the Mickey Lolich of our generation.

Lolich had his own gravitational field that could draw pitches toward him and out of the strike zone. How is Kennedy doing it?

This trend isn't new: he had only 46 unintentional walks in 651 PA last year.

The article says it's since the middle of last season. The breakdown of Pujols' unintentional walks last season was 31 first-half, 15 second-half. That's pretty striking (it's less obvious in terms of total BBs because he drew 11 IBB in the 2nd half v. 4 in the 1st).

The Chicago Cubs have given up as many or more walks than Pujols has in 7 games this year so far. They gave up 14 walks yesterday with Garza giving up 5 of them. Randy Wells has also had a 5 walk game. So far this year 15 pitchers have given up 6 or more walks in a game. Kelly Johnson got 7 walks over 3 games this year. Dustin Pedroia got 6 walks over 2 games this year.

What surprised me is that even with an OPS+ of 44, Pujols isn't even the least productive player in the Angels' starting lineup.

I kept telling you guys all offseason that Pujols was toast. :-)

Neyer used to do a "last guy to draw a walk" thingie each season. I recall one year he'd already awarded it to somebody (Mark Quinn maybe) only to have Shawon Dunston chip away off the bench to take the title. I know that's not the same as impressive K/BB ratios for batters but the current leader is Wilson Valdez with 36 PA.

Longest streaks so far this year are Angel Pagan at 94 and Starlin Castro at 93. P-I not working right for me but looks like the longest streak to start the season is Mayberry at 51

Whoa, Kevin Millwood has 6 starts for the Ms. How come nobody told me?
