BaseballAmerica.com: Majors: Awards: Player Of The Year: Two Good, Mike Trout Wins Major League Rookie And Player Of The Year

What’s not surprising is Mike Trout winning Baseball America’s Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. What is surprising…Mike Rizzo says Bryce Harper can go 110% down the line. Well, actually, it’s not surprising that he says it, just like it’s not surprising that NBC News reported that Felix Baumgartner traveled “faster than the speed of light” in his great fall to earth the other day.

Harper, like Trout, has put a major imprint on the Nationals with his aggressive style of play and relentless energy. It’s natural to suggest that his veteran teammates would rub off on him. But he has also rubbed off on them.

“On groundballs to the pitcher, he’s going 110 percent down the line, sprinting through the bag at the end of it,” Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said. “It’s infectious. Now it’s not the exception. It’s the rule, and everybody’s doing it from the most veteran veteran to the youngest rookie.

If he traveled faster than the speed of light, the explosion probably would have killed a lot of people.

Would have been a better quote if Rizzo had said "the veteraniest veteran to the rookiest rookie."

Does anyone know what Mr. Baumgartner's highest measured velocity was? Pretty cool event IMHO.

It was 833.9mph, or Mach 1.24.
