Berardino: Spaceman older, but he hasn’t gotten old

How did the Yippies ever miss out on Bill Lee…

More than a quarter century has passed since Bill Lee threw his last pitch in the major leagues, but the “Spaceman” is still firing high and tight at those who run afoul of his unique worldview.

Take cover, Al Gore.

“This guy is a plagiarist of the highest order,” says the old left-hander for the Red Sox and Expos. “An Inconvenient Truth is so passé. This is stuff I knew in 1969 from reading Buckminster Fuller. Like Dick Schaap said, I told him about global warming in ‘72.”

But what about that Nobel Prize Gore received?

“Ever since he got it, we’ve had the coldest winter we’ve ever had,” Lee says. “There may be global warming in the Indian Ocean or in the Klondikes, but not here in Vermont.”

Why bother with this? The Giuliani thread is still going strong!
