Berg: Pete Rose owns this jacket

“Pimp” Sanderson.

image

No way. I mean, it doesn’t look photoshopped or anything… but no f@#$ing way. Really? I’m not trying to sound like a middle-school bully or whatever, but is he kidding or something?

I think the only people that can pull off loud clothing are people that suck parts of male anatomy for fun and even then it still iffy.

Hell, wearing light green gives me pause.
   2. Justin T's horse was fast as polished steel Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3782816)
I think that's a woman who just happens to bear a striking resemblance to Rose.
   3. Arbitol Dijaler Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3782820)
Is that from Marshall's?
   4. Gonfalon Bubble Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:37 AM (#3782828)
He should stick to the gasoline suit.
   5. akrasian Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:41 AM (#3782835)
Sounds like some people are jealous that Rose can rock that look.
   6. Dunn Deal Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:45 AM (#3782840)
He probably lost a bet.
   7. DA Baracus Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:50 AM (#3782845)
Even Bill Cosby wouldn't wear that.
   8. Steve Treder Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:59 AM (#3782858)
And he looked at himself in the hallway mirror before leaving his house and said, "Yes. That's the look!"

That's what's scary.
   9. WillYoung Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:00 AM (#3782859)
Eight posts in and no one has linked to Rose's worst fashion faux pas yet? For shame...

(I'm not going to be the one googling his underwear ad)

Hey, the audition for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ran long and he didn't have time to change before the game.
   11. staring out the window and waiting for fenderbelly Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:08 AM (#3782867)
Anyone can wear a crazy jacket once, but he wears those glasses everyday.
   12. DA Baracus Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:11 AM (#3782870)
I never thought I would say this, but I kind of want to see Pete Rose's pants.
   13. LargeBill Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:12 AM (#3782871)
The oddest thing is he is starting to look like Marge Schott.
   14. McCoy Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:25 AM (#3782882)
The jacket kind of reminds me of those leather jackets they used to wear back in the 90's. If I recall correctly the NBA players, Kid N'Play and Will Smith were pretty fond of them. I think I remember seeing Michael Jordan in something like that.
   15. PreservedFish Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:39 AM (#3782888)
Yes, I was thinking: black tv celebrity, 1988-1992.
   16. McCoy Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:43 AM (#3782889)

This was the pair of pants he was wearing today.

I was thinking this or Elton John.
   18. McCoy Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:48 AM (#3782893)
Liza Minelli.
   19. TerpNats Posted: April 01, 2011 at 01:59 AM (#3782904)
Fellow (albeit fictional) Cincinnatan Herb Tarlek.

And let's not ignore that cap.
   20. Tulo's Fishy Mullet (mrams) Posted: April 01, 2011 at 02:03 AM (#3782906)
If a jester wore leather, this is what I would imagine it would look like.
   21. Steve Treder Posted: April 01, 2011 at 02:21 AM (#3782920)
Herb Tarlek. That's it precisely.
   22. Random Transaction Generator Posted: April 01, 2011 at 02:29 AM (#3782922)

I'm pretty sure this is the guy everyone is thinking about.

It's not leather, but this may be more familiar and on someone more famous.
   23. rombuu Posted: April 01, 2011 at 03:12 AM (#3782946)
Wait... I thought he wasn't allowed to go to MLB ballparks? Did they give him a pass on this or something?
   24. McCoy Posted: April 01, 2011 at 03:19 AM (#3782948)
   25. The Most Interesting Man In The World Posted: April 01, 2011 at 04:13 AM (#3782968)
I would definitely say Elton John.
   26. cardsfanboy Posted: April 01, 2011 at 04:55 AM (#3782979)
Wait... I thought he wasn't allowed to go to MLB ballparks? Did they give him a pass on this or something?

he's allowed to go to a park if he buys his own ticket, he's not eligible for any special considerations.

Damn you RanTranGen, I was just about to ask "Why is Meat Loaf wearing Arsenio Hall's jacket?"

In other news, investigators are looking into a mysterious douchebag-sized hole in the national AIDS quilt.
   30. Mr. Furious Posted: April 01, 2011 at 11:29 AM (#3783018)
Look, guys, give him a break. Linda Richman was sick so he had to host "Coffee Talk" right before the game, and didn't have time to change.
   31. Leroy Kincaid Posted: April 01, 2011 at 11:45 AM (#3783021)
The hat is worse.
   32. Belfry Bob Posted: April 01, 2011 at 11:54 AM (#3783027)
James Garner in 'Murphy's Romance'.

I like the expression on the guy next to Pete. 'Of all the seats in this place, I had to get this one. Thanks a lot, Scalper!'
   33. Shooty Is Disappointed With His Midstream Urine Posted: April 01, 2011 at 11:55 AM (#3783028)
That is quite the enemble, Pete. I bet the head of Fox Sports will have Rosenthal dressing like that soon enough.

Also, post #1...McCoy means his mother, right?
   34. ERROR---Jolly Old St. Nick Posted: April 01, 2011 at 12:26 PM (#3783039)
As dumb as Rose's jacket looks, it's really not any more puke-inducing than this or this or this.
   35. depletion Posted: April 01, 2011 at 02:26 PM (#3783105)
I got robbed by a guy wearing this jacket in the early '70's. 48th Street.
   36. The Id of SugarBear Blanks Posted: April 01, 2011 at 02:42 PM (#3783120)
Anybody ever see Pete Rose and Vanilla Ice in the same room?

Yikes. He's no Jim Palmer, I'll tell ya that much.
   38. TerpNats Posted: April 01, 2011 at 03:32 PM (#3783150)
If Rose's batting eye had been the equivalent of his fashion eye, he would have had as many hits as Drungo Hazewood.
