Blue Jays’ Marcus Stroman was vomiting during win over Padres

Throwing up, puking, hurling, barfing, upchucking, tossing your cookies, eating backwards… Whatever you want to call it, it’s rarely a fun experience.

And while I’ve (shockingly) never pitched in MLB, I can imagine that doing so with an uneasy stomach isn’t an ideal situation to be in.

Unfortunately for Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman, that was the precisely where he found himself on Sunday. According to multiple sources, the 28-year-old righty was slipping his guts before and during his start against the San Diego Padres at the Rogers Centre.

Despite his health being a hurdle, Stroman battled through it for his side.

So, what do we choose to blame this on?

Pete Sampras famously vomited on the court in the middle of a U.S. Open tennis match.

It was behind the baseline, at least - but the kids with the towels weren't able to keep there from being a bit of what looked like a slick spot.

As soon as they had a changeover, Sampras hilariously kept hitting every damn return right to the slick spot. Kind of like that scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" where Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed kept getting close to dancing right into the swimming pool - except this was puke, not water.

no way Sampras did that intentionally, which was what made it so funny.

Or maybe it was flashback 70s uniform day and the mustard and brown got to him.

On a not really related note, was watching a bit of the Cleveland broadcast the other day and they said they hadn't been to San Diego since 2005. How does that work? I can see they'd only get there once every 6 years or so but 13 years? And does that mean they keep forcing the Padres' players to visit Cleveland? Surely that's grounds for a union grievance.

If bad bullpens make him queasy, no need to watch a team in another country. His own bullpen gave up 12 runs in only 4 innings the day before, though at least it ended well with backup catcher Luke Maile pitching a scoreless inning and striking out 2.
