Borowski put on DL

The Indians placed closer Joe Borowski on the disabled list today with a strained right triceps muscle. Borowski has failed to convert his last two save situations, failing in spectacular fashion both times.

...

Manager Eric Wedge will discuss the closer situation before tonight’s game against Boston, but Rafael Betancourt, who pitched Monday, could get the first chance at the job.

Other injury choices were drill to the kneecap, 2x4 upside the head, and my foot square up his….well, you know.  I am hoping the dueling Raffy’s do well so he never ever comes back.

I have never, ever been happier to see a player placed on the DL.

a strained right triceps muscle.

Is that the latest medical jargon for Terminal Suckitude?

When hitters start saying they can't tell the difference between your fastball and change-up, it's time to pack it in.

Or it could be that he has some sort of arm injury.

I believe the proper term for his injury is "inability to close."

I believe the proper term for Ray DiPerna is "brain damaged."

More bad news for Tigers fans. It's been a rough April so far.

That is, until the Twins suddenly imploding bullpen came to town. I think I saw some seagulls picking at the bloated lifeless figure of Jesse Crain after tonight's game.

Oh, you have absolutely got to be kidding me:

Wedge said Borowski first felt the triceps problem during Spring Training. When Borowski didn't show up in any Grapefruit League games for a significant stretch, Wedge downplayed the situation to reporters, saying the Indians were merely having him do his work on the side and in Minor League action.

And when questions about Borowski's velocity came up the past week, he and the Indians denied that he was injured.
So let me get this straight...they knew he was hurt, they lied about it, then they put him in a position to lose several games in the first two weeks of the season?

Somebody's got some 'splainin to do.

Oh, I believe it. His fastball looks mediocre. He does have a good slider, but he appears to be almost completely reliant on command.

So he's basically a more expensive Tom Mastny with a slider instead of a curveball.
