“I was trying not to go stir crazy,” Lester said of the incredibly long delay to his debut. “I was just relieved I threw a couple of strikes (early in the game). The first one - I didn’t know where it was going to go.”
  Said Francona: “(Yesterday) was not an easy day to make your debut. He sat around a lot. I’m sure he had a lot of anxiety.”

It was readily apparant why people are so high on Lester. He showed three above-average pitches yesterday: a really good curve ball, a 92 MPH fastball (on a fast gun), and a biting slider/cut-fastball. He also appeared a little intimidated by the whole experience. It will be interesting to see what the Sox do with him. Will he be sent back to the minors or will they suffer through his growing pains at the big-league level?
