Broadcasters Rod Allen, Mario Impemba won’t return to Detroit Tigers

As expected, the Detroit Tigers will have a new television broadcast team next season.

After a late-season falling out escalated to a physical altercation on Sept. 4, longtime Fox Sports Detroit broadcasters Rod Allen and Mario Impemba will not return next season, according to multiple persons with knowledge of the situation.

The end of their lengthy run is not surprising: Both Allen and Impemba did not appear on the air for the remainder of the season after the incident.

Should we all come to Detroit and audition for these positions as a group?

Well I hope they find someone, because I'd rather listen to Rick Sutcliffe and Chris Berman than a full season of Kirk Gibson.

Never cared for Allen. Just another former player with no business in the booth. Not terrible, though. The other guy seemed pretty vanilla, which is just fine with me. "Personalities" can be obnoxious.

I loved Impemba when he was the radio voice for the Angels. It's a real shame that Impemba and Allen fell apart; for years, they were a terrific team.

Never heard them announce.
