1. Paul D(uda) Posted: September 20, 2011 at 09:01 PM (#3931147)EDIT: Well, maybe not. What's the upper end on innings for a pitcher today? 230, 250?
No one has had 260 since the Big Unit in 2001 or 2002.
EDIT: Too late.
Awesomely so. Why doesn't he just do it, instead of talking about it?
Halladay was 266 in 2003, although I s'pose you're limiting to NL.
Not if the runs scored on the solo homers were unearned. With 2 outs, suppose the batter hits a foul pop-up that gets dropped, then hits the solo HR. The inning should be over but for the error, so the run is unearned.
Too bad Luis Castillo retired.
so theoretically if Verlander was pitching with nine Jeremy Giambis behind him, he could give up 100 home runs and have an ERA of zero.
Slide, Jeremy, slide! threw LH, you don't want him playing 3B, SS, or 2B.
...or any other position really
No, the umpires wouldn't allow his team to proceed with ten or eleven players on the field.
