Bryce Harper, Matt Adams Reportedly Claimed On Revocable Trade Waivers

Nationals sluggers Bryce Harper and Matt Adams were claimed by unidentified organizations on revocable trade waivers, according to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post (Twitter link). They join fellow left-handed hitting Nats veteran Daniel Murphy as pending free agents who were not able to make it through the waiver wire.

It’s hard to see Harper actually leaving, and hard to see Daniel Murphy actually staying.

El Hombre's right on both counts, as the Nats pulled Harper back and Murphy is now a Cub.

And Mike Adams has been sent back to St. Louis.

I wonder how Madden will utilize Murphy.

Old news, bro.

Bryce Harper's waiver (claim?) expired, which I now understand is A Thing. Perhaps the Dodgers were simply blocking better teams from claiming him while offering nothing that the Nats wanted.

Whether they just wanted to block him, or really wanted to trade for him, as a non-Dodgers fan I'm extremely glad nothing went through.

Holy cow! Can Murphy pitch?

The way this season is unfolding, Murphy likely WILL pitch at some point. Gotta save those precious bullpen arms if it's not a 1-run game!!
