Bud Selig: ‘Faith’ in Dodgers TV deal

Time Warner has only 32 percent of the Los Angeles market. MLB Network, which broadcast the Dodgers’ two Australian games to the rest of the United States, is blacked out in the Los Angeles market.

“I have faith that the parties will work this out,” commissioner Bud Selig at a news conference in Australia before the Dodgers took on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

this is complete and total horse excremento

bud doesn't give 2 shtts whether or not people can watch the team in freaking LA because like, who cares? the team already got mega zillions from twc and that is what matters - that and corporations forking over $$$$

the fans can go take a long walk offn a short pier

and it doesn't MATTER whether or not the team has fans or fans at the ballpark because the owner will make his megamillions even if nobody shows up

see former baseball teams astros and marlins who neatly get away with year after year of putting AAA crap on the field because the stat geeks think that it is fine for the ML team to not win as long as those prospects are nice and juicy

which is like some guy not caring if he has a real female to go to bed with because he has all that nice nekkid pix to drool ovah

Yeah! I think.

The curse of Time Warner already took down Kobe and the Lakers, I would hate to see Kershaw be next. Time Warner is wretched, I'm never going there. It's pretty amazing that I can live in LA, can call my provider and say 'give me everything, damn the cost' and still not have the Dodgers or Lakers.

To take it even further, Bud doesn't care because MLB is going to get a taste of that sweet, sweet revenue sharing from the Dodgers channel and TWC.

Are there any providers in LA that don't carry the Lakers channel? I get that the Dodgers channel thing is going to be an issue in about a week, but the Lakers channel thing is old news (maybe you could argue about the PAC-12 Channel).

While I am OK with much of your rant, I am pretty sure how the Astros and Marlins acted had ZERO to do with what the stat geeks thought or didn't think.

I get the Pac-12 channel! My daughter and I watch girls water polo all the time. I get the Dish Network everything package for basically nothing because I did some work on the early Echostar satellites, and I'm pretty sure we still don't get the Lakers. Although I don't really watch the Lakers so maybe I missed it.
