Bundy gets the call—on bullpen phone

Now pitching for the Baltimore Orioles, Dylan Bundy!

“Tommy Hunter answered the phone and told me I was going in. I said, ‘What?’ and I couldn’t find my glove. Took me about a minute to find it,” Bundy said. “He told me to get going, so I was like, OK, its happening, and I got loose as quick as I could.”

I was at Fenway yesterday and I have to admit I was pretty excited when he came in. The scoreboard flashed a brief "This is Dylan Bundy's MLB debut" message and the Oriole fans around me got pretty fired up.

Apparently, he was a standout at Polk High.

Do the Orioles typically use means of communication other than the bullpen phone for alerting relief pitchers their services may be needed?

As a multi-sport athlete as well. Scored 4 touchdowns in one game!

This sounds like a joke, but yesterday, while waiting to board my late Virgin America flight, the clerk at the flight desk announced that if we wanted updates on the length of the delay we SHOULD VISIT THE COMPANY'S FACEBOOK PAGE.
