Double post. Since neither thread has been commented on, this one will arbitrarily be selected for the discussion.

Anyway, Corey Seager will also be in the AFL. Who would you rather have: Russell or Seager?

I'll say Russell, since he's the one we've got, and I'm choosing to be optimistic.

I assume Bryant in the AFL means that he's going to be learning to play the outfield? It's not like his hitting needs any work.

I think Bryant played in the AFL last fall, didn't he? I think it's a little unusual for a guy to go twice - especially one that seems to have mastered all forms of non-major league pitching to the extent he has.

Did I miss the links to the rosters?

This page has the links to the rosters towards the bottom of the page.

I don't see Bryant on the Mesa roster.

He didn't play in the AFL last season either. He did play in the Arizona Rookie League for two games and six at-bats, but that was it.


He won the AFL MVP last year. Admittedly, he's good enough to win the MVP of a league he did not play in, but in this case he did play, hitting .346/.452/.691 with eight doubles, six homers and 17 RBI in 21 games of AFL play.

Sorry, I don't know why I thought he was going. Maybe I read 'Bryant' for 'Byron'? I dunno.

I could've sworn that MiLB.com listed AFL stats, but I guess I'm wrong. That's why I thought he didn't go last year. Thanks for the correction.

Yeah, when I think about Corey Seager, my fear comes from knowing Brandon Wood had even better numbers and became nothing.
