Calcaterra | John Rocker to join the cast of “Survivor”

Apparently “Survivor” is still a thing. But given how close to the bottom of the barrel they’ve gotten to find “celebrity” contestants, I can’t imagine it’ll be a thing for long.

Sports bras, human suffering, and ######## -- it's the tried and true winning reality TV formula that Survivor perfected....

They don't always have "celebrity" contestants, and the best seasons are the ones where there isn't anyone remotely famous in the cast.
However, if a "celebrity" does show interest in participating in the gruelling schedule, then they'll try to get them in there.
(Like Jimmy Johnson, NFL coach and TV commentator)

Rocker is an excellent choice for the show, as his public displeasure about people of colour and homosexuality is definitely going to be put to the test with the remaining cast. Either he'll flame out spectacularly, or he'll show some personal growth and learn to respect someone he might have hated before (flamboyantly gay guy, for example).

Survivor and the Amazing Race are about the only network shows I watch. It's very good TV.

It's not too late for John to punch 37-year old Rocker in the face.

Rocker did try out for The Amazing Race, but then they told him it was a get-somewhere-quickly kind of race.

Jeff Kent beat him to it.
