Cardinals calling up Oscar Taveras

Adams to DL. Taveras will start today and they say he will play a lot for the next two weeks. I haven’t been this excited about a call up since John Gall.

I am not even a Cardinals fan, but I hope he hits the snot out of the ball. There are only 10 guys in the NL right now with an OPS above .900; we need more hitting and we need more hitters. Of course, the Cardinals do not lack for either. But a super-star, drive the ball to the gaps OF? Yay.

1 for 3 with a homerun and a strikeout, but he did show incredible discipline at the plate, especially for someone just called up.

I thought John Galt was never called up & disappeared somewhere in the independent/outlaw leagues?
