USA Today and Dynasty League Baseball are simulating the World Series. Here’s game one.

And stupid virtual-Farrell starting Nava over Gomes. Danny goes 0 for 3 (stiff!) and the Sox lose with him in the lineup again! Even computers know that Gomes makes the Sox better!

Gomes hit a big homer in my Strat-O-Matic playoff game last night, FWIW. Considered pinch hitting for him (with Andy Dirks or Miguel Montero) against reliever Ernesto Frieri, but liked his power potential in the matchup.

It also not only started Will Middlebrooks, it PH Ross (!) for Nava rather than Bogaerts.

The problem with simulating individual games is that if you do it in a manner that is meaningful, it doesn't look that exciting in print. I'd dread having to turn "Cardinals win, 4.1-3.9, 52% of the time!" into an article.
