Carter finalist for Mets’ job

Hall-of-Fame catcher Gary Carter said he could find out this week whether he gets a shot at returning to the majors — this time as a coach.

Carter said he is one of three internal candidates interviewing for the New York Mets’ third-base coaching job vacated by Manny Acta, who became the manager of the Washington Nationals on Nov. 14.

Looks like Gary’s picked up a bit of a paunch.

Yes, jocks are never willing to admit either that they've lost their playing ability or that their metabolisms have slowed down.

That's not a paunch--he just can't give up that chest protector.
