CBSNewYork/AP: Woman Charged With Stalking Yankees GM Brian Cashman

[Louise] Neathway — who has a history of arrests on similar charges, prosecutors said — sometimes called and texted Cashman more than 10 times a night and threatened to harm someone he knew, prosecutors said.

After he told her last April that he didn’t want to talk to her anymore and even changed his contact information to avoid her, she asked him to pay for a $15,000-plus medical procedure and threatened to contact the press and his family with claims that would hurt his personal relationships and professional standing, according to a court complaint.

In response, he put $6,000 into two of her bank accounts Jan. 18 and tried again to extricate himself, but she instead demanded more money for operations, the complaint said.

Looks like it may be time for Cashman's wife to smoke the objective pipe.

Article never goes into what the medical procedure was. What type of procedure could someone be responsible for, caused by an inappropriate relationship that costs over 15,000? Is he more endowed than the average bear?

This might have been an effective plan... if he had also quit his high profile job, changed his name, and moved to Antwerp.

she asked him to pay for a $15,000-plus medical procedure

CashmanCare!

Something comical about this voice mail. The way he inflects his voice when he says her name. And I'm not sure why he needed to identified himself by his full name unless it was early on in the relationship.

Neathway, a British citizen who also goes by the name Louise Meanwell

Are we sure that this isn't guerrilla promotion for the Arrested Development film?

She looks a little better in this photo.

Geez, what a freak Cash is...

Geez, did you see the printing on that deposit slip? Is Cashman a primitive robot or a three-year-old? Maybe a non-human primate?

If you're going to risk ruining your marriage and reputation, don't you need to take that risk for a super model type?

When I read the linked article, there was a link for more info that said "Steve Sandberg Reports", but I first read it as "Ryne Sandberg Reports". He's more likely to be able to speak to this from the perspective of Mrs. Cashman than anyone else, so I thought that was kind of weird.

Why would you think the procedure necessarily had anything to do with him at all?

This list of average costs of hospital medical procedures has the following as being between $13,500 and $16,500:

1. Traction, splints, and other wound care
2. Other CT (CAT) scan
3. Diagnostic ultrasound of abdomen or retroperitoneum (area behind abdomen)
4. Removal of ectopic pregnancy (abdominal or tubal pregnancy)
5. Urinary system measurements done outside an operating room
6. Routine chest X-ray
7. Cardiac stress tests
8. Radioisotope scan and function studies
9. Removal of foreign body (non-operating room)
10. Mammogram (X-ray pictures of breasts to detect possible tumors)
11. Other respiratory therapy
12. Microscopic examination of blood (bacterial smear, culture, toxicology)
13. Urinary incontinence procedures
14. Amniocentesis (diagnostic sampling of the fluid in the amniotic sac)
15. Repair of cystocele (bladder hernia) and rectocele (rectal hernia)
16. Diagnostic ultrasound of gastrointestinal (GI) tract
17. Other non-operating room therapeutic procedures on female organs

Assuming that Cashman wasn't beating her up, his special attentions could be responsible for, among others, any of 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, and most definitely 17.

The pictures of both Neathway and Cashman in the link in 7 are fantastic. They have an eerie harmony about them.

The stories say she's a British national, yet she's been arrested at least five or six times without being deported. Glad to see the government is right on top of things.

I'm no expert on immigration law so I'm just asking here. Assuming that one is not in the country illegally, is deportation something that would typically be pursued for a trespassing conviction?
   26. Joe Kehoskie Posted: February 04, 2012 at 12:19 AM (#4053303)
Probably not a misdemeanor trespassing charge, but one of the stories I read mentioned her having a "history" of stalking and/or extortion.

She should have twitted she was going to 'destroy America' and 'dig up Marilyn Monroe'

Prior to 9/11 the crime had to involve "moral turpitude." Today I think any criminal conviction may lead to the removal -- the phrase "deportation" is so 9/10 -- of any legal permanent resident or visitor.

I think there is a lot more to this story than we will ever know.
