CC’s Ample Mansion

To go along with his ample backside:

CC Sabathia didn’t have a very good first outing with the Yankees, nor did he have a very good spring training. But whatever, the man signed a $161 million contract and no one can take that away from him.

But where can CC retreat to after a bad loss? Why, his $15 million mansion of course. Yes, above is CC’s new pad in Alpine, New Jersey, home to other such annoying stars as Sean “Diddy” (or whatever the hell he’s calling himself these days) Combs. Anyway, here are the details on CC’s place…

The biggest rooms in the house are the kitchen, the dining room, the pantry, and the breakfast nook (rim-shot).

I don't blame him, although if I had a $161 million contract, I'd probably buy an island.

Since when did CC become "annoying"? When he became a Yankee? When he got a huge contract?

CC's one of my favorite players despite signing with the Yankees. I expect a couple of more rough starts on his way to a 20-win season.

Prior to this year, Sabatha had made $36 million in salary his career. And he bought that house for $14 million cash. I'm sure he's received endorsements and all that jazz, but don't care who you are, that's pretty impressive financial management right there.

Also a very impressive feat of strength, to lug 14 million in cash around.

I say CC wins 40 games.

By the all-star break.

CC and Puffy have nothing in common. It's not like CC is saying Yeaa! Yeaa! Uh Huh! Uh Huh! standing behind his coaches while the argue with the umps or wearing stupid shades all the time.

In the alternate universe where I make this much money playing for the Yankees or Mets, I want one of you to shoot me if I decide to live in New Jersey.

All you have to do is figure out in which alternate universe this is currently happening. And then tell me, so I can switch brains with him.

I guess you have to wait until I do that, then you can shoot him. I mean me. Wait...

Lassus, I just want to heat your cold heart with a hot island song.

Girardi would just be gesturing while the PA played an old Billy Martin argument.

I think this would make me like him even more.

Well, he's gotten $6 million of his $9 million signing bonus so far, so that helps.

But yes, it sounds like C.C. could give tips to some of his new teammates. When Johnny Damon had his assets frozen and was talking about how he couldn't pay his mortgage, my first thought was, "Why does Johnny Damon have a mortgage?"

That's why the house was so expensive. It's actually one big refrigerator- food may be safely stored in any room in the house.

Provided that CC isn't in that room at the time.

Have you ever been to Cleveland?

The cost of living is quite low and it's unlikely he found any women worth spending tons of money on...

Although, in all seriousness, it's great that CC has managed his money that well considering all the pressure that must be around him to spend, spend, spend.

CC's from Vallejo, he probably didn't bat an eye at New Jersey.

I grew up a couple of towns over from Alpine, and I can tell you that it's a resplendent place. It's also reasonably close to the city without traffic (less than half an hour). There's a reason a ton of athletes make their homes in Bergen County...

But, you'd think, for a Yankee, southern Westchester would make more sense. Same upscale suburbia, no bridge traffic.

If I were a Yankee, I'd live on Riverside Drive, just like the Babe.

If I were a Yankee and wanted to live in a suburb, I'd live in Southern Westchester.

Nobody in Alabama has any teeth. Except for me. And I probably have more fillings than enamel.
