A couple of innings? Gonna take a lot longer than that for me to run all my ideas to improve the team past Theo.

I think I may have found a way we can get Trout and McCutchen and we wouldn't have to give up all that much.

The runner-up gets to be the starting LF for a game - or maybe more!

I want McCoy to win this.

I don't know what it says about me, if anything, that I'd probably look more forward to chatting it up with Kasper than with Theo.

If I win, can I take the box without the Cubs suits? I'd really much rather just enjoy the game and drink myself silly on free top-shelf booze.

Heck,if that's me, I sign for a mere 50% of what last year's opening day left fielder still makes from the Cubs.

The local radio station was having a giveaway this week. I think it was a trip to see Katy Perry in LA, or something like that. And I was thinking, "I wonder if I won, could I just get the trip to LA and skip the Katy Perry concert?"

At my only appearance at Wrigley Field (SABR convention, 1986), I chatted up Bill James.

I think I'd rather do that again than this.

Second prize is four innings with Theo Epstein.

Unless you have a specific interest in the general occupation of being a baseball executive I think for most people a conversation with Epstein or another GM/VP would potentially be awkward or boring. They aren't going to say anything other than compliments or general comments about players, tell you industry secrets, let you know their real plans for the team's future, etc. since anything told to you would likely get spread around to others. With Kasper you're chatting with a guy whose life is watching baseball games and talking about them.

Yeah, I have no real desire to watch a game with Theo or really any executive of baseball. Now if I happen to be at a bar and a game is on I wouldn't mind shooting the shvt with them but to actually be stuck in a suite with them? No thanks.

I have never ever wanted to win any of those win a trip with X or win a dinner with X or any of those kinds of contests where the prize is meeting and hanging out with a celebrity.

So James puts out is what you're saying.
