Chicago Cubs Play Dress-Up On Super Hero Day

On Sunday, the Chicago Cubs decided to have a “super hero” dress-up day. Players and coaches alike got in on the act and despite some players having an extremely loose interpretation of “super hero,” the results were ... well ... see for yourself.

Jeff Samardzija dressed up as Jesus. Again, technically correct, but you’re pushing it now.

Jeff Samardzija dressed up as Jesus.

Well, he was my favourite of the Alou brothers, but a career OPS+ of 86 hardly counts as super...

Samardzija went to Notre Dame. The Roman Catholic reboot of the Jesus franchise isn't that far off from Christopher Nolan's Batman.

A Jesuit school, such as Fordham or Boston College, probably would never portray Jesus as a superhero. It's a different approach to theology than the order that runs Notre Dame.

Are you sure that isn't Brian Wilson?

That's Samardzija's real hair, but not his real beard ,right?

I think so. He sports that Lincecum-style mess.
