Chicago Tribune: Guillen undecided on [OF Brian] Anderson’s future (RR)

Brian Anderson was expected to start Saturday against Detroit left-hander Nate Robertson, but didn’t. Manager Ozzie Guillen said he hasn’t thought about sending his second-year outfielder to Triple-A Charlotte to guarantee him more work.

“We don’t have any idea what we’re going to do with him, keep him here all year or if we need the extra pitcher,” Guillen said of Anderson, the Sox’s first-round pick in the 2003 draft.
...
Guillen said he elected not to start Anderson because he didn’t want to start him in the same lineup with rookie catcher Gustavo Molina. Anderson and Molina were a combined 1-for-14 before Saturday. Anderson is 3-for-12 lifetime against Robertson. Guillen said he would try to start Anderson, who has only eight at-bats, in a two-game series at Kansas City starting Monday.

I'm amazed. The knock on Anderson last year was he wasn't hitting. This year, Erstad is hitting like, well, Erstad, and yet they are worshipping the guy. I just can't believe it.

At least we're through the "Iguchi not hitting 2nd" part of the season already.

The more scrappy players they get, the better I feel.

I can't believe this. We had amazing defensive centerfielders a year ago and now we have none playing. Urgh.

How come he's not starting CF for the Marlins yet?
