They have a guy from the Cubs' system in the squad up there.
I guess this isn't necessarily the team for the actual WBC anyway.
Last time they had 9 US-based players on their team.
Kao Chih-Kang, Peng Cheng-Min, Pan Wu-Hsiung, Tseng Song-Wei, Chen Hong-Wen, and Cheng Kai-Wen are all repeats from the 2009 team. The first three of those are over 30, the youngest is 24.
I got that feeling as well. Remember, they are in the weakest group by far. This is probably partially a team to win, but also partially a test-run to give some of the younger guys a chance to show their stuff for a roster spot in March.
