” Outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall, who was ranked by Baseball America magazine before the season as the top freshman player in the country, and reliever Nick Fuller stole a flat-screen TV, a video game system and DVDs on March 13 while South Carolina students were on spring break, according to arrest warrants.
Fuller, rated by Baseball America as the No. 4 freshman player, was also charged in two other incidents. Police said he took three laptop computers from the university’s Academic Enrichment Center and $3,100 in cash from offices of the baseball coaches, according to arrest warrants.”
Baseball America says there will be a 12:30 pm press conference with Head Coach Ray Tanner, which has quite to be quite the distraction considering the Gamecocks play a midweek game vs. UNC-A later in the day.
Fuller had given up NO HITS and no runs while striking out seven (and walking seven) in 5 innings in 6 relief appearances. Fuller was second highest HS pick (3rd rounder) from the 06 draft to attend college and garnered Brad Lidge comparisons at Kell High School in Marietta, GA for his potential as a closer and electric mid 90s fastball and slider combo.
Chisenhall was a 13th rounder of the Pirates who would have gone much earlier if he was considered signable. He was hitting .313 and was becoming relied on as a key cog in number two ranked South Carolina’s offense.

1. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Griffin (Vlad) Posted: March 20, 2007 at 12:24 PM (#2314531)Might not be available for awhile, depending on time off for good behavior. Can't see any team taking a chance on these guys until the criminal case is finished. Even then, not the type you'd want to share a locker room with.
Yeah, tough to shower while holding your wallet.
What would his draft status be this year? Does he still have to wait until his junior year and/or age 20 or whatever the rule is? Is indy ball in his future?
I think he took "Enrichment Center" a little too literally.
It's amazing how people just don't think. How they can throw away so much for so little.
A few years back, my father-in-law--who worked at a golf course as a greens keeper--told me about how a bunch of young people: three guys and two girls, drove up to the outdoor patio, grabbed a few chairs and a table, stuffed it into their van and took off.
All were caught, tried and convicted.
The girl (whom my father-in-law knew) had just finished law school and was waiting to write her bar exam.
Suffice it to say, her law career was kaput.
How many thousand of dollars were spent, thousands of hours spent studying through high school, university, and law school casually tossed aside for a few pieces of patio furniture?
Amazing.
Best Regards
John
Coach Tanners wallet might still be unavailable though
Jeter might lose another glove.
Rick Vaughn: California Penal...
Willie Mays Hayes: Never heard of it. How'd you end up playing there?
Rick Vaughn: Stole a car.
