Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer responds to his critics … in a rap song

Montero said earlier this week that Bauer, among other things, didn’t listen to Montero when he was his catcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bauer has since been traded to the Cleveland Indians. Which leads us to this song ...

“You Don’t Know Me” was posted online on Wednesday. But MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian reports that Bauer recorded the song in December, which is when he was traded.
Bauer, in not exactly the cleanest of flows, says things such as:

“Its time to get back to all these fans that I’ve been losing due in part to the rumors moving about that that I refuse to listen / So people get this vision of me, no one goes up hitting for me / I swear I’ve never been gifted nothing.”
“Now I’m the bane of society, I’m the villain / millions judge me, even quicker than winning a boxing match by killing / and most of its unjustly given.”

Rap response. Good idea.

That's ok, he can listen to Dice-K now and really learn how to pitch.

I'd like to hear Kevin Towers drop a few verses in response. This could be the new Jay-Z vs. Nas feud!

Whither Eric Gagne?

This is kind of douchey, of course, but I don't see that it's really all that much different from guys like Scott Radinsky writing songs that obliquely reference life as a ballplayer.

But it's so terrible. It's like Chet Haze bad.

Odd, because Consummate4Sight is such a great name for a band.

Well, yeah, it's awful and Radinsky's band was/is actually pretty good. I'll grant that as a big difference.

Hmm... I guess the D-Backs were right about him after all.

Dan, you weren't kidding.

They're the most Epitaph, Orange County punk sounding band ever, but they aren't bad at all. I don't even like that subgenre that much but they're very listenable.

sigh... I clicked the rap battle tag and was sad that no other thread came up...

Remember all that talk about how smart Trevor Bauer is? ... yeah forget about it.

Further proof that Drake has ruined rap.

Am I right that everyone's familiar with Epic Rap Battles of History?

Because if not, you should be...

EDIT: Dammit... new laptop and upgraded browser - but forewarned that their homepage autoplays the current week's battle (Adam vs. Eve) and it's NSFW.
